JNH Lifestyles

The MG301HCB JNH Lifestyles infrared sauna is designed to accommodate three users at one time, comes with an extensive eight-panel heating system, and some pretty great bells and whistles that really add to the user’s experience, especially those who are new to infrared therapy. Unlike a steam sauna, this IR model will not make you feel overheated. Instead, infrared heat is designed to heat the skin at a lower temperature leaving you feeling rejuvenated immediately after treatment.

Our Verdict: This JNH Lifestyles three person sauna is made out of durable, chemical-free Canadian Hemlock, with a dual wall construction for improved insulation and heating efficiency. The eight-panel heating system will ensure full coverage. The biggest drawback here is the longer forty-minute heat up time. The sauna’s control panel is located on the inside of the cabin and allows you to easily adjust the heat and length of treatment. You can also use the controls to adjust the volume of the two built-in stereo speakers.

Heater System

This sauna comes with an eight-panel carbon fiber heating system, allowing each user to experience total coverage for more effective treatment. These panels are located at the calf, side, and back area in order to maximize the heating area. There are major differences between the carbon fiber heaters used in this model and the ceramic heaters used in older saunas. These carbon heaters are able to operate at a much lower temperature due to infrared technology and the heating wavelength. A traditional ceramic heater will have to achieve a temperature well over one hundred and fifty degrees in order to efficiently heat up the cabin. A person will begin to sweat at around one hundred and five degrees. Because of this, the amount of time you can safely spend inside a sauna that’s equipped with ceramic heaters is severely limited. However, with the carbon fiber heat panels, you can enjoy a treatment time of thirty to forty-five minutes.

Additionally, the health risks associated with a traditional steam sauna is significantly lowered in an infrared sauna. The lower temperature combined with the longer wavelengths will heat up the cabin more efficiently, and faster. Steam saunas will have hotspots inside, which cause the heaters to work harder in order to heat up the surrounding area. Carbon heaters work to distribute heat evenly. With IR heat, the heat will penetrate the skin deeper compared to the forced heat used in a traditional sauna. This results in cleaner sweat and higher detoxification.

Carbon heaters are also much more energy efficient compared to steam saunas. They can heat up a room evenly since they don’t have to compensate for cold spots. Because of this, they don’t have to run quite as hot as a steam sauna.

Cabin Design

The cabin is made out of chemical-free Canadian hemlock wood. The dual wall construction provides top of the line insulation for more effective treatment. The manufacturer has also used the traditional tongue and groove design, so each of the pieces fits cleanly together for a beautiful finish and a durable design. This is a high-performance sauna that’s ETL approved. It’s also made out of FSC certified green wood. The entire sauna is plywood-free and it offers excellent insulation thanks to the high-quality hemlock used. The door of the cabin is see-through, so you can easily see out during treatment. The door is made out of a special type of safety glass that’s designed to handle higher temperatures without cracking.

Assembly

As we mentioned, the sauna features a traditional tongue and groove design, which not only improves the durability and look of the cabin, but it also makes it much easier to assemble. The sauna features a tool-free assembly process, so you can quickly put the sauna together in under an hour. Additionally, breaking down the sauna is also a breeze, so moving the sauna from one room to another or transporting it.

Sound System

The sauna’s premium sound system is made up of two speakers and an amp which hooks up via an aux plug. The system’s volume can easily be adjusted via the control panel.

LED Lighting

Inside the cabin, you’ll find long-lasting LED lights that are energy efficient and can last fifty percent longer than a standard lightbulb.

Control Panel

The control panel will allow you to control the duration of the treatment session, adjust the volume of the speakers, dim the lights, and switch the sauna on and off. You can also adjust the length of treatment.

Warranty

The sauna is covered by a two-year warranty that covers damage and defects. For the price, I was disappointed that the manufacturer didn’t offer a lengthier warranty.

Heat Up Time

On average a standard infrared sauna can take anywhere from twenty to forty-five minutes to heat up. This depends on the size of the sauna, its design, and how many heat panels it has. This model takes approximately forty minutes to heat up, which can be a drawback for some users.

How it Works

JNH Lifestyles

The infrared wavelengths are able to penetrate the soft tissue up to an inch and a half, opening up blood vessels and warming up the body. The sauna’s IR light has a number of health benefits, which is why IR therapy is often used to reduce pain, stress, anxiety, and inflammation. It can also be used to heal skin conditions, promote a faster healing time, boost the immune system, and elevate mood. Saunas are often used to help promote weight loss and to lose water weight, but they can also work to cleanse clogged pores and detoxify the body. During the detoxification process, harmful waste is removed from the body via sweat. Excessive sweating will remove heavy metals and other harmful toxins from the body. Regular use of this sauna can also help to stimulate sweat glands and increase blood circulation.

If you work out often or have a physically demanding job, this type of natural treatment can also help with pain management in terms of both joint and muscle pain. The infrared heat helps to warm up the muscle for improved range of motion and greater flexibility as it relieves muscle pain and tension. To use for pain management, we recommend a thirty-minute session which can burn approximately two hundred to eight hundred calories. How it Measures Up to the Competition

One of the best infrared saunas on the market, this is a three-person sauna that comes with some great extras, including a large control panel located on the inside of the cabin, built-in speakers, and a tongue and groove design that improves durability and makes assembly a breeze. The Sunray Sequioa 4 Person Infrared Cedar Sauna is one of JNH Lifestyle’s top competing models. Unlike this sauna, which comes with eight carbon panels, the Sequioa comes with a total of ten. It also comes with an impressive seven-year warranty, instead of this standard two-year warranty. The Sequoia also features seating for four instead of three, complete with removable ergonomic backrests. Those looking for an infrared sauna that offers light therapy will be excited to learn that the Sunray sauna features a seven-color option chromotherapy system, in addition to an FM radio complete with an MP3 player and a CD player. When you compare the extra features, the sauna by Sunray is the clear winner. However, considering it comes with so many extra features, you can also expect a higher price tag.

Conclusion and Rating

Product Rating: (4.5/5)

I gave this model a rating of four and a half stars.
