If traditional sauna suits aren’t what you are after, then this neoprene sauna vest might just be the thing for you. The Wonderience Men’s Waist sauna vest is one of the most famous models out on the market currently and for a good reason. It is elegant, low profile, very effective, and most importantly – extremely durable and easy to maintain. Granted, it is a little expensive for what it offers but it gives you the comfort of being able to quickly heat up your body’s core without having to dress in a full-on sauna suit.
Our verdict: The Wonderience neoprene vest is minimal in its design and quite capable of heating up your core muscles and keeping your posture upright. It is specifically designed for people that want to have a milder but more continuous sweating effect throughout their day. Apart from its slightly high price tag, it brings most of the features of a regular sauna suit in a much smaller form-factor.
In this review, I will walk you through some of the most important features of this vest and show you how it compares when put side to side with a normal full-on sauna suit.
Overview & Features
The theme of this vest has to be its convenience. There is a good reason sauna vests exist and that is because a lot of people prefer the convenience of being able to wear these neoprene suits/vests underneath their clothes and go about with their day. These, unlike suits, can be worn for much longer duration since they don’t cover your whole body and it is a lot harder to overheat wearing them (not impossible, though!).
As the name suggests, neoprene is the material of choice for the Wonderience vest. There are quite a few benefits to neoprene and one of the main ones is that it is comfortable when directly on the skin and is also really durable. This particular vest here has a good amount of stretch to it which makes the fit tight even if you lose some pounds over the course of a few months.
Neoprene is also really good at retaining moisture, so you will sweat as much as you would sweat in a sauna suit minus the downsides of having to put on a full suit on your body.
Even though this vest will fit you even if it isn’t exactly your size, there are quite a few options to choose from. The range goes from Small to 4XL, although I suggest picking your true size as this will be worn on top of your chest most o the time.
The ventilation these vests provide is excellent as they don’t cover your armpits or inner thighs. That helps your body regulate its temperature better while you still heat up the core and make it sweat more. If you are working out in a very hot environment, this combined with a simple t-shirt should do a far better job at making you sweat than a sauna suit that can easily overheat you if used for more than half an hour.
Logically, this won’t provide the familiar closure and coverage like a full-body sauna suit does but then again, that is the whole point. There are neoprene suits out there which cover your whole chest and a little bit from your arms and legs which are even better at raising your body’s temperature but they are also harder to put on and not as comfortable if you wear them for prolonged periods.
There is a zipper upfront which allows for the easy entrance but it can also malfunction. That, in all honesty, is one of the few major downsides to this vest and a lot of people complain about it.
The fit here is almost as expected but if you are going through various weight loss stages, I suggest picking your own size or even one below, as that will guarantee that the vest will stick with you for more than just a few months size-wise.
Washing and anti-odor properties
Washing any neoprene vest or suit is a walk in the park compared to the nylon or PVC sauna suits. It can be machine washed and machine dried, although I wouldn’t suggest drying it under direct sunlight if that is what you typically do. It dries really fast and can even dry up completely if you take it off for a moment during your workout. Still, that might be hard to do as you’ll have to take every other top clothing before that.
In terms of style, this has to get the maximum amount of points. Vests are becoming more and more popular mainly due to their stylish nature and stealth approach to sauna suits. This one is such a slim fit that it can be easily worn beneath your clothes without anyone noticing. This makes it ideal for daily activities like cleaning your house, walking your dog or anything else that involves some physical activity. The vest will not only keep you warm but will also keep your posture upright and give a good amount of compression for your core muscles.
There aren’t many options to choose from though, as black and grey are the only colors you can choose for your vest.

Conclusion & Rating
Sauna vests are all practically the same when it comes to their performance. Since most of them are made out of neoprene they also share most of their features. In that case, what it all boils down to is the price tag. The Wonderience Men’s Waist Trainer Vest is relatively expensive compared to its small size but it does give you the option of wearing a sweat suit beneath your clothes during a busy day or even if you are at the gym and don’t want to put a full sauna suit just for your workout.
